About the Founder

A smiling man with a beard, wearing a gray GPS K9 T-shirt, gray pants, gray sneakers, and a black cap, stands on a lawn with a black dog lying at his feet. The man is holding a leash, and the background features trees, a building with a red door, a gray sidewalk, and a street with parked cars.

Ronnell “Ronn” Hall

“GPS K9 is where dog training meets wellness, creativity, and purpose. It’s more than a business. It’s a way forward.”

GPS K9 | We Find a Way

I’m Ronnell Hall, founder of GPS K9 — a dog training, dog sitting, and wellness company built around one belief: dogs help people grow. Emotionally. Mentally. Socially.

I am a certified service dog trainer, mindfulness practitioner, fitness and wellness coach, and recovery coach. My work blends dog psychology, emotional regulation, creative learning, and real-world leadership skills to help both humans and dogs thrive together.

My Background

Before creating GPS K9, I spent more than a decade working with youth, adults in recovery, and justice-involved individuals. I’ve facilitated programs for over 500 incarcerated individuals, designed innovative youth workshops across Connecticut, and supported people navigating addiction, homelessness, and trauma.

These experiences shaped my belief that dogs are mirrors — reflecting our energy, our wounds, our courage, and our potential. GPS K9 was built to bring healing, structure, and connection to every household and every community we serve.

What I Bring to This Work

I merge dog training expertise with mindfulness, fitness, emotional wellness, and youth development.

My credentials include:

  • Registered Service Dog Trainer (Department of Labor)

  • Dog Training Education through American Veteran Dog

  • Certified Mindfulness & Meditation Coach

  • Certified Fitness & Wellness Coach (Restorative Yoga, Mindful Movement, Recovery-Based Fitness)

  • Certified CCAR Recovery Coach

  • CCAR Ethical Considerations & Professionalism Designation

  • Youth Program Designer, Facilitator & Holistic Wellness Coordinator

My methods are positive, relationship-based, and grounded in calm leadership — not force.

The GPS K9 Philosophy

Guidance- Purpose- Service

Dogs respond to our energy, our clarity, and our consistency. At GPS K9, I teach people how to connect, communicate, and lead with confidence. Every program — whether dog training or community workshop — is rooted in:

  • Calm leadership

  • Mindfulness & emotional balance

  • Clear communication

  • Purpose-driven structure

  • Healthy boundaries

  • Wellness for both dog and human

Because freedom without boundaries becomes chaos — and that’s no gift to anyone.

What Makes GPS K9 Different

GPS K9 isn’t about traditional obedience alone — it’s about creativity, engagement, and real-life practice.

I use:

Dog Training Games to build focus, confidence, impulse control, and enthusiasm

Hands-On Creative Activities like rope toy making, puzzle building, and art-based learning

Community Service Projects teaching youth and adults to give back

Wellness & Mindfulness Coaching so handlers stay grounded, confident, and emotionally regulated

This approach strengthens the bond between dog and human — while building responsibility, empathy, and leadership.

Why I Do This Work

I built GPS K9 because I believe in second chances, new beginnings, and untapped potential. Dogs changed my life — and now I use them to change the lives of others, one home, one workshop, one community at a time.
